MONICA HOUSTON is a resident and Independent Filmmaker in the State of Oklahoma. Since 1997, she has been involved with various filmmaking projects in other states, as well as Oklahoma. Her passion for movies and her ability to visually entertain is the motivating factor for her to touch the hearts and minds of others.
Mrs. Houston felt the need to pursue this passion during a time in her life when personal challenges and circumstances overwhelmed her. These challenges only motivated Monica to get up and do something! After interning in Seattle Washington as a Production Assistant and after applying for the Directors Assistant program in Los Angeles, Monica enrolled in Oklahoma City Community College, where she meet and went under the advice of Fritz Kiersch Director of Children of the Corn. His advice to her was: Just go make a movie and she did just that. She made two movies within a year and a half, a short Film titled To Good To Be and a Feature Film titled The Last Time.
As Writer, Producer, Director, and Editor, Monica Houston contributed more than blood, sweat and tears in this project, she has also contributed her life, after a near death experience in 1999 when she delivered her son and developed a rare temporary cancer that had a survival rate of 1%.
Monicas motto is this You only have 2 chances in life, one chance to fail and one chance to never fail again.
